To inculcate reading habit among children from the early child hood a Readers club is functioning in the vidyalaya and conducts various activities during the academic year.

As part of Class Library activity, Library was introduced to class 1 students in the first week of April 2018 which was a wonderful experience for the. They spent one period in the Vidyalaya Library and tried to read books and magazine displayed in the Library.

Vidyalaya  observed Green day on 03 April 2018.  The Green day was observed as part of the “Save Tree Program” of Kendriya Vidyaalaya Sangathan. A book donation Program was held in the Vidyalaya in connection with the Green day celebrations. The Program envisaged to make the students aware of the need for preserving trees. Each text book they throw away cost the existence of trees as paper is made from wood. Students of class II to XII participated in this program by donating their previous academic year’s text books to the students of their junior classes. School Principal Sh. Shree Govind Dubey inaugurated the Program. He appreciated the students who came forward to gift their books and urged more and more students to come forward in the next academic year to become part of this “Save Tree Program” by donating their books.

Reading day  was observed on 19 June 2018 and remembered Sh. PN Panicker who is known as the father of Kerala Library Movemnt. Various activities were conducted in the vidyalaya in connection with the Reading Day and Reading month as per the activity Plan.

First of all  Principal Sh. Shree Govind Dubey administered the reading day pledge to the Vidyalaya in the assembly which was followed by introduction of authors by students of Class VIII A. Kumari  Aparna of Class IX B presented a brief life sketch of Sh. PN Panicker. Then Boys  of Class IX B Staged a mime on the importance of education and learning which was followed by a quiz program on  the authors of books.

Then students of class IX and VIII presented a group song based on the theme of importance of reading in our life.  The whole program was anchored by readers Club members Kumari Haritha Nandini M and Kumari Malavika S.
